The registration deadline for 2025-2026 is August 31. Early registration is encouraged to ensure you get the day/time best suited to your schedule.
THE OVERALL PROGRAM
This program is designed to teach students to read, write and speak the Gaelic language. It consists of five levels, Level 1 (Beginner) to Level 5 (Advanced). The program uses materials and sound files by fluent Gaelic speakers, and each class is led by a qualified teacher. After the completion of the Level 5 level, the student can be tested, and if the tests are successfully completed the student will be awarded the Executive Certificate in Gaelic Language Studies from Beinn Mhàbu and Colaisde na Gàidhlig. Classes are 3 hours per week and each level runs for 28 weeks between September and April.

This is a new program, offered in partnership with Cape Breton University.

It is offered in two, 12-week, 3 credit courses (GAEL 1101-75 and GAEL 1103-76) over the Fall and Winter semester, respectively.

This course runs in 2 sessions per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:15 – 4:30PM, Atlantic Time.

CBU students who have completed GAEL 1101 are eligible to complete GAEL 1103 in the winter semester.

Students who are not already registered with CBU should apply to CBU. Please choose “No Formal Program” for your program of study. Students wanting to transfer the course to another institution where they are currently a student should submit a Letter of Permission.

Upon registration, you will be invoiced securely via PayPal.
